ABOUT THIS TEA

The cabernet of hibiscus teas. We join luscious red hibiscus with Indian sarsaparilla, ginger, pink rose petals, and elderflowers from Europe. Deep red, complex, nuanced and caffeine free, this tea almost needs a corkscrew.

BLEND NUMEROLOGY

Our color guidebook says you can see 24 shades of red in a cup of Big Hibiscus, including “Persian”, “Mars" and “Fiery."

INGREDIENTS

Hibiscus flowers, Indian sarsaparilla root, ginger root, natural flavors, rose petals, elderflowers and lemon myrtle.

TASTING NOTES

Hibiscus, vanilla, ginger

PREPARATION

Use one sachet for each quart of iced tea. Heat spring or filtered water to boiling (212 degrees) and pour two cups over sachet in a heat-proof pitcher. Steep five minutes, remove sachet and top off with cold, filtered water. Stir briskly and serve over ice.

HIBISCUS FLOWERS

Egyptian Botanical

Hibiscus flower is cultivated in many coutries around the world including China, Thailand and Egypt. We particularly like the Egyptian variety–it is brighter, fruitier and more exciting. High in vitamin C, hibiscus is tart, deep red, and slightly earthy with concord grape-like characteristics.

EGYPT

Egypt is one of the few countries with borders that stretch into two continents and is considered to be home to one of the three oldest civilizations. The Nile is the primary source of water for Egypt and much of the country's agriculture is situated near its banks. Hibiscus is harvested in the Fall
